Capacitating Anganwadi Workers

Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in their communities, focusing on the health and nutrition of women and children. Therefore, enhancing their capacity is essential. To achieve this, a large-scale training program was conducted for over 1,600 Anganwadi workers across the district. The program highlighted the often-overlooked component of community education within the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). As a result of the training, many workers became Masters Trainers, equipped to lead efforts in community behavior change aimed at improving nutrition and health outcomes for women and children, ultimately reducing malnutrition in the area.
